Blitz

Blitz is a quick, simple card game popular in some fantasy roleplaying settings. The people of your world might play Blitz as a pastime, a way to resolve disputes, or even as a form of gambling. The game is easy to learn, but has strategy elements that make it tough to master. 

Why Blitz? 

Lots of fantasy settings have popular card games unique to their universe. The Witcher has Gwent, Final Fantasy VIII has Triple Triad, and Star Wars has Pazaak. If you choose, Blitz can serve as the card game for your setting! 

Objective 

The goal of Blitz is to control more stacks of cards than your opponent. The game occurs over three rounds. Win more rounds than your opponent, and you’ve won the game! 

Cards 

There are five different kinds of cards in Blitz, each representing types of units on a medieval battlefield. 

• Infantry, Cavalry, and Spearmen are like rock, paper, and scissors — each of them beats one, but is vulnerable to another. 
• Spellcasters are wild cards. They beat any other card, but they’re vulnerable to Infantry, Cavalry, Spearmen, and other Spellcasters. 
• Archers don’t beat anything and are vulnerable to all the other cards. However, your opponent can’t counter them right away, which gives you an edge
